R.SURF.CONTOUR and real numbers

That seems reasonable, considering that GRASS only stores integers in its 
cell files...

As far as I know, you can only produce th edesired level of detail by 
starting with an input (vector?) file with height values in centimeters, 
then run r.surf.contour and r.out.ascii, then edit the ascii file to put 
in all the decimal dots - hopefully this last step can be performed much 
easier in the program that you need the ASCII DEM for...
