Malcolm,
Thanks for your reply.  I never thought that your can run SUN OS 4.x binary on
the SUN Solaris 2.3.  However, I have successfully compiled r.in.tiff only with
the SUN Solaris 2.3 (after spending a lot of hours).  You are right that
there are no sunview library available, so that the r.out.tiff will not compiled.  Thanks anyway!
