MSS data-what format for grass?

Grass Users:

we're ordering MSS data from EROS that we'd like to use as input for Grass (4.0 
or 4.1). We have a choice between these computer compatible  8mm or 9-track 
tapes:

EDIPS CCT, 1600 or 6250 BPI
variation:
	Version 0, BSQ
	Version 1, BSQ
	Version 0, BIL
	Version 1, BIL

Any suggestions on which variation? Should we use 1600 or 6250 BPI?
Does it matter whether we use 8mm or 9-track ?

If you have any experience with MSS data, PLEASE respond as soon as possible.
We need to purchase soon or lose the money :)
