Metadata collection script available

GRASS users,
  A tarred file entitled metadata.collection is available to be used from the
ftp site cast.uark.edu in the outgoing directory. Follow normal ftp procedure:
anonymous login, your e-mail address as password. The directory downloaded is
"class.metadata" . A README.metadata file explains the contents. Untar, then
uncompress. The main script g.meta provides metadata collection from raster,
vector or site files. It parallels the 5/31/94 FGDC Standard; it was
written from this guide. A few features of the 6/1/94 Standard have been 
implemented, though to a small degree. If you need metadata collected to fill
a gap until CERL implements a method, feel free to use this. Please report any
