 The Research Unit 21 (Water Cycle Mechanisms in Interaction with the   
Climate and the Environment : concepts and modelling) of ORSTOM (French   
Institute of Scientific Research for the Development in Cooperation) is   
looking for a candidate as fellowship partner :
     
 Profile of the candidate:
Senior hydrologist, the candidate will participate in methodological   
research on spatial modelling in hydrology. He must have solid experience in   
hydrological distributed modelling. He will be interested in problems of   
scales and of conceptualization of hydrological processes, using tools 
such as statistics , GIS (GRASS) and new computer methods.
He will be  associated to a research team of five persons.
     
 Status of "Directeur de Recherches" (Senior Researcher) or "Charge de   
Recherches" of First Class, depending on qualification.
Monthly salary between 12 000 and 18 000 FF, depending on qualification.
   
 Workplace : Laboratoire d'Hydrologie, Centre ORSTOM de Montpellier, France
   
 Duration : 1 year, renewable
 Beginning : January 1995
