d.mon CELL

Hi, I'm having problems using the CELL monitor.  I would like to 
create a raster file (with vectors and/or sites drawn in), but
my D_cell is unusable.  I am using GRASS update version 4.
Is this a known bug, or am I doing something strange?

To create the file, I did:

	Mapset <sue> in Location <sfbay> 
	GRASS 4.1 >  d.mon start=CELL
	Graphics driver [CELL] started
	Wait for 'READY'
	READY
	
	Mapset <sue> in Location <sfbay>

BUT, when I tried to USE it:

	         region

The cellheader looks like (seems a off to me!!):
