The National Wetlands Inventory, a project of the US Fish & Wildlife
Service, is now serving a file via anonymous ftp that contains metadata
applicable to all NWI digital wetlands data. The file complies with
FGDC Content Standards for Geospatial Metadata.  Interested users are
encouraged to download a copy of the file by anonymous ftp at
enterprise.nwi.fws.gov, cd to the metadata directory.

Metadata files containing information specific to individual 7.5' quad
data files are planned.
