v.support problems

Hmmmm....

Judging by the absence of response to my request that anyone with a
working v.support [build] under Solaris 2.4 contact me, it appears that
vector topologies cannot be built on Suns that run this newest version
of the OS. Is there any plan at CERL to fix this, perhaps in the next
update (or in release 4.2)? I hope to take a whack at it soon, myself,
because lack of vector capability is currently crippling my research on
such a machine, but 1) it may be some time before I can commit much
time to the problem, and 2) figuring out the unsupported vector library
calls that _appear_ to be responsible looks non-trivial, especially
since I'm presently working from a remote, X-terminaled environment
that was never designed for efficient debugging. So far, my best
weapon has been adding a slew of embedded printf()'s and recompiling to
try and trace the problem through the convolutions of the Vlib-- not an
optimal solution!

Is there anyone else out there who is also attempting to fix this?
