tutorial and spearfish

Hi,

I am trying to find a tutorial and some data files to see if Grass 
4.1 has been configured properly on a Linux machine. In the manual it 
mentions a tutorial and some files with the name spearfish. I found 
SG3D.tutorial.ps.Z and SPEAR.DB.ps.Z at the ftp site. 

Are these the right files? 

Aren't ps files post scripts for laser print copies?

Are these readable data files?
