Moniek Vesseur,
I believe the GRASS contributed shell script <shade.rel.sh> will
solve your problems. The following is the definition from g.manual:
shade.rel.sh - Creates a shaded relief map based on current
resolution settings and sun altitude and azimuth values
entered by the user.
