Hello GRASS programmers,
We are currently looking for GRASS programmers. Here is some
background info about the jobs:
about the company

a) A small software development firm based in Montreal, Canada
b) Has been working with GRASS since 1989 doing all sorts of
consulting works for National Defence Department, Environment
Department, Public utility companies, Mineral exploration
companies, Forestry industry in general and many others.
c) Is part of a larger holding ( MLC Polytech ) in business
since 1971.
about the development project

a) LAS is currently developing a new GUI framework for
GRASS. This new and redesign user interface is based on the
tcl/tk software package. It is similar to the XGRASS package
but has a lot more goodies in it.
b) the new and improve GRASS will be commercialy available on
Windows/NT and Windows/95. We will also release a freeware
version on most UNIX platforms including: Solaris, Ultrix,
Irix and perhaps others. We also plan to release versions
on Linux as well as SCO Unix.
about the job

a) To first assist and later to participate in the developement
process of the new product
b) The R&D team is composed of 7 highly skilled programmers in
5 distinct area of knowledge: GUI programming with Tcl/Tk
(2) , GIS applications programming (2), Porting to Windows/NT (1),
compilation, build and make files (1) and finaly GRASS experts
like YOU.

c) Salary will range between 35000$ and 45000$ depending on skills
and experience. These are Canadian $ of course. Also, has a
Canadian citizen you automaticaly benefits all sorts of
advantages: health care, unemployment insurance and others. ...
and a lot of taxes :-)
about your skills
-----------------
a) must have a very good knowledge of GRASS internals data
structure and of GRASS libraries ( gislib, diglib, ... ).
b) must be able to easily create new GRASS functions.
c) must be very confortable with UNIX.
d) must have surfed on the internet.
e) We need someone with very good programming skills in
C, and possibly with Xwindows and/or Tcl/tk.
