Importing from ArcInfo

Greetings,

I am trying to import an existing polygon coverage from ArcInfo using
v.in.arc. I get the polygon and label points from the ArcInfo ungenerate
command but cannot get the label text file to identify the polygons (as
forest types).

Anybody know how? The Grass on-line manual suggests the ArcInfo DISPLAY
command but gives no other information.
