ps.map and grids

I am trying to print a map with a grid that is labeled every other line in red.
I have tried using ps.map and the following simplified script


raster sp30serp94nn
scale 1:50000
grid 1000
  numbers 2 red
  end
end

All I get when I use ps.map is a printout with my raster image and the unlabele
d
grid.  When I use p.map and p.select preview using the same file, I get the
raster image and a labeled grid.  I don't believe that I am doing anything wron
g.  Is there a bug in the ps.map program?  Any suggestions?
