v.digit snaping problem

I'm using v.digit to digitize polygons over a satellite image.
I have 2 problems:

1. I select Auto label, Point mode and Area edge. When I finish my polygon,
I always get the message: NOTE: 1 new nodes needed, no matter how close
I try to bring the last node to the first one.

2. Area do not get labeled unless I do it afterwards using "a" under
the Label menu. Does the Auto label option hold only for points and lines?
Is there any way to label all my areas at once?

3. I need to zoom in and out very often. Zooming in using the Select New
Window option is fine, but then I would need to go back to the original
scale at once. Is there any way to do this?
