dig_att file for area objects

I know we can do this using v.digit.
But I have many area objects to label.
I tried to play with dig_att file just
by placing
	A x1 y1 1
	A x2 y2 2
where x and y is a pare of points that
define the area. However, sometimes it
comlains category m matches category n,
especially for the donut case. 
What's a better way for doing this?
