v.to.rast

Dear Grass Users,

I need help in converting vector data to raster data. I would like to convert
vector data to raster data. I have used v.to.rast to convert the vector data.
It works ok. However, some of these raster data are connected diagonally to
each other. I don't want this. But, what I want is that the cells are connected
either E-W, or N-S but not diagonally. Anyway, that I could do it in GRASS.
