SUMMAGRAPHICS & Linux

Hello,
Want to digitize under grass and linux using a summagraphics
microgrid III digitizer; Manual says it (the tablet) can emulate
Calcomp 9100 series digitizers; but our dig_drivers are non existant
with the linux release of grass -(It still does not work under the
SUN that has Calcomp 9500 drivers). How can I get around this and 
digitize under linux? Has anyone the drivers compiled for Linux?
Is the idea to edit the ./etc/digitizer/files to reflect your
setup?
