               /||||||||||||||||||||||||\
Details below.

Read the 1996 Strategy for the NSDI

The 1996 strategy updates the 1994 plan for the NSDI. The 1996
strategy was drafted with input from the various
communities that create, produce, maintain, and share geospatial
data. The goals and objectives set forth in the draft strategy
are now undergoing broad public review. After the goals and
objectives are agreed on, these communities of interest will
cooperatively develop implementation plans to guide their NSDI
activities for the next several years.

Order a paper copy of the draft strategy from the FGDC at:

Review the strategy

Responses may be in writing, email or fax. An interactive forms-
based response will be available shortly through the home page.
Reviewers
are asked to evaluate the goals and objectives. Do the objectives
support the goals? Are there objectives you'd like to deemphasize,
eliminate, or add? How do you see your organization fitting into
this plan? Responses made to the FGDC by October 30 will be
consolidated and made available for the public discussion of the
strategy at a special meeting in Chicago, November 7 and 8, 1996.
