PostGRASS is alive!

Hi, all
I have compiled the postgrass on linux RH5.1.
But it have Error Message: PG_HOST not set when I run g.select.pg or
g.table.pg ...
PG_HOST xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx or setenv PG_HOST pg_path both don't work.
How I should to set PG_HOST ??

BTW, I have change linux from Slackware to RH.
I used gmake4.2 to compile sources very well on Slackware, but
it seem be  many errors after I install RH.
for examples:
OBJ.linux/label.o(.text+0x10b):the `gets' function is dangerous and
should not be used.
What's wrong?
