trouble starting monitors in grass5

Hi Bob
This is the same thing I had. But no panic. You only have to generate the
lock directory for your machine:
Login as root.
1. Create a locks directory (this directory must have the name of your
machine, if in doubt ask with: uname -n)
2. cd usr/local/grass5/locks
mkdir nameofyourmachine
chmod ugo+wrx nameofyourmachine
I hope this solves your problems. BTW I really enjoy my *new* grass 5... :-D
