rim

Dear Friends,
running the grass4.2 v.19 SGI binaries from Markus's site.
 
I am experiencing trouble creating a database with s.db.rim
As a test I used emacs to paste the example layout given in the g.manual.

I get a failure message as follows:

Form Definition Accepted.
Building the RIM database in directory
/data/kvamme/fncesbl//S.Rosa/survey/rim/sites
data: Not found
rim: Not found

Database is now 'made'.
ERROR: Unable to open database that was just made.

Is there a component of rim missing from this Grass binary distribution?
If so has anyone a compiled version for SGI that I can get, please?
