r.in.ascii file sizes Yet another suggestion sed

hi- I never tried on a 1 gig file but i think sed would work (try head -10 bigfile >testfile to build a test case to debug your sed script)

I am not sure if this could solve your problem, but I made very good
experiences with nedit... (although 1 GB is a lot)
