GRASS as GNU Projekt ?

I think that Grass should become a GNU project iff
this could help to improve Grass by atracting
people to write new modules. I think
that Grass needs to give more steps forward
and not just debugging. Otherwise, Grass will
soon become obsolete. For example,
float rasters are a real improvement, but if
you look at it from a user's perspective, this
is just a minimum requirement. Instead, visualization
of aerial-satellite imagery in Grass is still clearly below
minimum requirements.
In any case, the decision should be based on whether
becoming GNU would help the development of Grass,
and obvioulsly Baylor's opinion is critical.
