Eric,

thanks for the pointer. I feel the main problem is my
second point: any volunteers to help here?

I am quite overloaded and would be glad to receive assistance
on this point. Does anybody know how to get the RPMs into the
Suse, Debian, Redhad, Slackware etc.? Any personal connections?
