User Guides for GRASS

Are there any user guides that have been written for GRASS?  I have a basic
understanding of GIS and had used GRASS several years ago in graduate
school. I would like to implement it into some of my analysis projects, but
I am finding that the g.manual explanations are just not enough for us slow
learners.
