This would be very usefull for me, otherwise I have to return to
previous version of XDRIVER.

One more question: 
How is it connected with d.colormode?
I thought d.colormode switches between public colormap and (private?)
colormap
of XDRIVER. Such switching is usefull and could be better solution
than running only in one mode (but I know I can run more monitors or
restart).
