No luck on it ever, it crashed mightily on install. My advice still stands to anyone trying this: learn to install and use some flavor of linux (slackware rules: www.slackware.com, mandrake is dumb and easy, especially for running graphics: www.mandrake.com), and then install GRASS there. You will be very happy with the results, and since the cygwin install is seemingly  difficult and apparently unstable, the linux install seems to actually be the quickest route.

That is, of course, IMHO....

So has anybody gotten GRASS to work with Cygwin?

I'm willing to write a better readme file, if someone helps me over this
hump.
