[GRASSLIST:1673] problem with v.extract

Hi,

i try to use v.extract to get a new vector map from an
existing map  as following:

v.extract type=line input=old01 output=new01 new=1
list=1

in map old01, there are three categories,  i can run
the command above with no error warning and get a new
map new01 with one category.
however, no  data is extracted into new01, so i can
display nothing for new01.

could somebody help me with that please?
