[GRASSLIST:4273] Selecting vectors from a map.

Hello,

I would like to be able to select some vectors from a vector map, which
is displayed on a GRASS monitor, by clicking on the desired vector
lines.  They should then be saved to another vector map.  v.digit
doesn't seem to have this capability, and v.extract is awkward to me.
Plus, I couldn't seem to get v.extract to work at all.

Is there a GRASS program to do this?
