[GRASSLIST:5157] To copy vector maps betwen distinc locations?

Hi,

I need to copy a vector map on an external location. 
g.copy shows me only maps in the current location mapsets.
Can I use the unix command (cp) with files in dig* folders?
I tried with v.out.ascii and v.in.ascii.
But this it is a too long way (later I need run v.support and vector map is 
very big)
