[GRASSLIST:3213] s.in.ascii format problems

I'm having problems running s.in.ascii. In Degree,
Minute, Second format I get an error, While the 
decimal degree has no problem. 

GRASS 5.0.0pre3 > s.in.ascii sites=cade fs=space
Enter sites, one per line, in the format:
east north attributes
When finished, type: end
location attributes> 111:50:46.39E 40:46:4.08N test
** invalid format **
location attributes> 111.5046 40.464 test
location attributes> 
 


The problem is that my gps is not very advanced and only
provides Degree, Minute, Second format. Is there another
way around this. Or am I inputting the coordinates 
incorrectly. From the online manpage for grass5 It seems
Ok..
