[GRASSLIST:2902] NVIZ question

First, Glynn, thanks for the help on the previous questions I posted..I
finally got it configured..
I have seen a change in my NVIZ since I have turned my computer on this
morning, and trying to track down what it might be...has anyone seen
this ever before??  In openning a raster file from NVIZ tcl menu, it
loads slow...slower than what it used to.  I have put several other
programs on my machine (GMT, WebWinds), but do not have them running...
the slowness only comes when reading in the data initially...what
exactly is NVIZ doing to "read" the data??  
Any hints, ideas what might have caused this...I have recompiled the
latest CVS Snapshot, thinking that might help, but with no luck, still
slow...thanks in advance...
