[GRASSLIST:2956] Distance Precision & Mercator Projection

Hello !

I would like to know, using Mercator Projection, how to calculate the
error (or precision) on a  calculated distance. I assume that the
precision of the calculated distance change with the scale and the
location of the map, so : Does it exist some equations taking as
parameters scale and location to calcul the error ?
