Please, disregard my last question about where to find the source code for 
the modelling program ANSWERS.
It was too quick.
I've found it in the source tree, under 'src.garden' directory.
By the way, I've needed to change a couple of thinks in the makefiles:
first of all, ...src.garden/answers/src.answers/raster/Gmakefile should be:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
all:
	$(GMAKE) r.answers
	$(GMAKE) r.direct
	$(GMAKE) r.slope
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and 
...src.garden/answers/src.answers/raster/r.answers/inter/Gmakefile
...src.garden/answers/src.answers/raster/r.slope/cmd/Gmakefile
and
...src.garden/answers/src.answers/raster/r.slope/inter/Gmakefile
should include $(ZLIB) for the linking
