[GRASSLIST:3860] number of display colors

Hello,

When I start a monitor (d.mon start=x2), I always have only 252 colors
The message is :
using default visual which is PseudoColor
ncolors: 252
Graphics driver [x2] started

How can I change this "default visual" to something like TrueColor ?
Is there a way to increase the ncolors ?
I am running GRASS 5.0.0pre3 on linux redhat 7.2 and I access to it from 
windows via eXcursion (an X server)

I didn't find my answer neither in the mailing-list nor in the manuals.
I would appreciate if someone can help me...
