It should work on any iPAQ with (Familiar and may be other) Linux installed.
Familiar now supports iPAQs from line 3100 to 3800.

The only problem (not really a problem but inconvenience) may be space in
ROM - 3630 has only 16 MB ROM - if he doesn't want to reinstall GRASS after
every hard reset (caused by total discharge). But it can fit to 16 MB
together with fuly functional Linux.
