[GRASSLIST:4799] Problem starting GRASS5.0.0

I am new to GRASS and am attempting to learn the program through the 
Spearfish tutorial.  My first hurdle has come early!

When I start grass for the second time, after incorrectly entering the 
Mapset information, I get the "Starting GRASS ..." message and then a 
window pops up titled "gis_set.tcl".  How do I resolve this problem??

I am running SuSE 7.3 Pro.  I have tried to run it using a newly created 
user and as the root but with the same result.

..HELP!
