[GRASSLIST:1958] how install postgresql7.3.2

Hello,
I tried to install postgresql 7.3.2 because it contains the lib libpq.so.3 needed by grass5.7 but when i write in the shell:
>.configure
the result is:
.
.
.
no checking for gcc
no checking for c
then i write :
>gmake
you must run the configure program first.
error1:....
my question is how resolv this error.
