[GRASSLIST:5389] v.mkgrid and v.support

Hi,

I'm tryng to make a grid of an area of 6000x6220 m. I want boxes of 5x5m, so that's 1200x1244 rows en cols en resolution 5,5 in v.mkgrid yes?. The map is made very quick, about ten or 20 minutes and is very big (about 225 mb).
Now running v.support is taking forever, estimated a full day. How come??? Using grass5.0.0, RedHat 8.0 and my machine: Amd 1 Ghz, 384 Mb ram. Not running grass5 as root, but no other program is running.
We'll love to hear any suggestions,
