[GRASSLIST:9] Java code for reading GRASS rasters

I'm writing a java program to visualise a number of different data sets.

One of these data set is a collection of raster maps I've generated in 
GRASS.

I need some all java code to read in the raster maps. I'm happy to write 
it myself, but before I start I'd thought I'd ask if anyone has already 
done it so I don't have to re-invent the wheel.

Any suggestions, tips, etc?
