Actually I am using exactly this package from testing (recompiled on 
woody with postgresql support switched on; it is 4.99+5.0.0pre4 to be 
exact) and it seems to work more or less OK (patch and diff file are 
available on http://www.ceplovi.cz/matej/progs/debian).

Are there any major bugs which I should be afraid of?

However, certainly if anybody creates last stable grass for woody, 
I would be very happy to upgrade.
