[GRASSLIST:3307] GRASS 5.0.3 problem

I have been running GRASS 5.0.2 until recently with relatively few 
problems. However, two days ago I decided to upgrade to GRASS 5.0.3 and 
encountered the following problem:


[oper at dell5-tir data]$ grass5  
Cleaning up temporary files.....
Starting GRASS ...
/usr/local/grass5/etc/set_data: /lib/i686/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.3' 
not found (required by /usr/local/grass5/etc/set_data)

Any thoughts what I can do? I've been trying to build glibc-2.3 but I 
have not succeeded (I can not generate a make file eventhough the 
'configure' seems to complete OK).
