The Grass Forum makes things easier for new users to
acquaint with this wonderful software, on 
1. Compilation
2. Installation
3. Adding other supportive software like
   GDAL
   NVIZ
Etc.

It will promote GRASS USAGE far and wide if case
histories are provided, for Installation.

All the experts with their rich contribution may
please help those who are not so well versed but are
eager to use GRASS, by providing case histories on
installation on various LINUX variants as suggested
below.

1. PCQ LINUX 2004
2. Damien
3. Mandrake
4. Suse

U MUST NOT ONLY TREATISE HOW GRASS5.0, GRASS5.7 IS 
INSTALLED BUT ALSO HOW U CAN MAKE 

GDAL INSTALLATION AND WORK (RS)
DATABASE INSTALLATION AND WORK (SQL)
NVIZ INSTALLATION AND WORK 

Those in the GRASS FORUM may think that this is a very
petty thing, but think of the thousands or more WHO
ARE HELD UP AT HIS INSTALLATION STEP, and are working
with improper installations, if not totally giving up
alltogether.
