ps.map will do it; this is not yet done for d.grid.

ps.map is really for creating high quality printed hardcopies, not 
on-screen graphics.


You could add the text by hand with d.text or d.text.freetype ...

maybe d.t.freetype with east_north= coordinates and ref= lower left is
quickest? 

[automate that + d.grid into a script?]
