[GRASSLIST:4872] Minor problem with cell backdrop in v.digit

Hello

I'm digitising around an area using v.digit from a tif map (gone through
the usual r.in.tiff, i.group, i.target, i.points, i.rectify) and want to
digitise using the mouse, displaying the rectified map as a CELL backdrop
in the display window. So on running v.digit an entirely new vector map is
being created. Problem is that the CELL backdrop is not displayed - the
screen remains blank. The workaround is to run v.digit on an existing
vector map in the same region - now the backdrop is displayed, and
digitising can go ahead as normal. Any suggestions as to what's causing this?

Problem occurs on Grass 5.0.3 on Redhat Linux 7.3

Many thanks
Roy
