GRASS runs great on my new iMac. It was $1700, has a 20² flat screen, fast
(but single) G5 processor, and 180 Gb drive. It takes up only the screen
space on my desk (i.e., the computer is in the screen, so there is no box).
I upped the RAM  to 1 Gb.  You can use Lorenzo Moretti¹s binaries or compile
GRASS your self.
