[GRASSLIST:9673] Graphical selection

Hi,
  Happy 2005 to all.
   
  Graphical selection:
  A vector map is  dynamic. Inputs keep the map changing.
  In GRASS 6.* with a query one can select several objects (polygons) based on query logic.
   
  But to change the attributes one has to click on each, one of the object with the pointer, and add it to the form that appears (lot of repeatative typing).
   
  It will be of great advantage IF
  1. One can change attributes of all selected objects (through query)
      with a logic.
  2. Add columns also on the screen (fly)
   
  Selection tools on screen to include
  1. Good old pointer (is now present in GRASS)
  2. Making a dynamic rectangular window
  3. Drawing a polygon on the displayed vector
  4. Just crossing a 'line', intersecting various objects for selection.
