[GRASSLIST:5759] How to start Grass in a different language

Hi all

I've read the README file inside "locale" dir but it's impossible to 
start GRASS with a new language in my MAC OS X binary.

I've built all i18n dir inside "locale" dir in my Grass binary:

locale
     de
         LC_MESSAGES
             grasslibs
             grassmods.mo
     es
         LC_MESSAGES
             grasslibs
             grassmods.mo
     fr
         LC_MESSAGES
             grasslibs
             grassmods.mo
...


Example
I've set the LANG env:

setenv LANG it_IT
setenv LANGUAGE it_IT

I've built Grass --with-nls in configure.

I start grass60 and I always have the standard english language.

I've tried all languages.

What is the exact way for starting Grass with another language?
