[GRASSLIST:7621] extracting points questions!

Hello,
is there a way to extract from a point vector all the point inside the 
current region?
v.out.ascii seems to export all the points and not just the ones in the 
current region (r.out.ascii clip on region)...

Also, to extract the point intersecting an area.....
v.overlay seems not to accepts vector point as ainput.....

Is there any procedure or command that do the triks?
Suggestions please...
