[GRASSLIST:7623] netCDF import not working

Hi all,

Can anyone think of a reason that I can't import netCDF format files  
into GRASS even though they are listed as a supported format in for  
r.in.gdal?  I'm using GRASS 6.1 CVS for OSX by Lorenzo Moretti.  I  
get this error message:

r.in.gdal input=/Users/jason/Documents/BU/GISdata/NEXRAD/temp_export/ 
KEWX_20050604_035728_REF_0048.nc output=035728_6_ncdf -o
ERROR 4: `/Users/jason/Documents/BU/GISdata/NEXRAD/temp_export/ 
KEWX_20050604_035728_REF_0048.nc' not recognised as a supported file  
format.
